Warner Park Recovery Center – Woodland Hills Mental Health

At Warner Park Recovery, we know that getting sober is only the first step towards building the life you want to live and embracing your new future with confidence. Once you’ve successfully made it through treatment, you have the incredible, potentially-terrifying opportunity to rebuild your life by your own design. We understand how big this can feel and how much work you may have to do. That’s why we provide unparalleled aftercare services for every aspect of your new life, from the professional to the psychological. “Aftercare” refers to any form of professional assistance you receive after completing acute treatment and it doesn’t have an expiration date–you can take advantage of our services for as long as you need them.

Life Skills

Many of the tools you develop in getting sober will go on to serve you well in other aspects of your life. Your recovery will teach you patience, emotional stability, self-awareness, internal regulation, prosocial behavior, the importance of accountability, how to form and maintain a plan for if things go wrong, and the benefits of having a strong support system. Our counselors work with you on a long-term basis to make sure you’re retaining and utilizing these skills as they apply to the rest of your life in good health.

We can also provide training and resources for developing practical life skills including financial responsibility, physical and mental exercise, improving your living situation, and establishing a social circle of positive influence.

Part of recovery means moving forward into a better life than the one you left behind. For many, this can include starting a new career path, exploring employment opportunities in areas that excite you, or rebuilding a professional trajectory that may have been damaged by addiction or mental illness. It can be daunting to face the prospect of looking for work after making such a large life change and you don’t have to do it alone. We work to help you achieve a smooth, promising career path and overcome any obstacles which may arise as a result of your path through recovery.

Like the rest of our services, we offer practical, effective job search assistance with trained professionals who take the time to understand your personal goals and needs and seek to match you with the best possible opportunities. We also offer support with resume building, establishing professional references, and doing whatever it takes to get your career moving in a positive direction.

Career Planning

Your recovery is a chance to start over, so don’t leave anything off the table. Many take the time after treatment to go back to school, experiment with a new trade, or learn new skills. We can connect you with resources for full-time, part-time, and virtual academia, assist you in finding apprenticeships or vocational training, and ensure that you have access to comprehensive counseling and mentoring relationships with people who are uniquely suited to help you. Whether it’s embarking on a new journey of work, school, or personal growth, we can help you establish your goals, form direct plans to meet them, and maintain contact with you to keep you accountable.

Addiction and mental disorders can wreak havoc in your home life and in your professional life. As part of our aftercare services, we offer individualized assistance with getting back on your feet, rejoining the workforce, and ensuring that you can meet your basic needs as you transition into a healthier lifestyle. We know that these things can take time and effort, which is why we provide one-on-one guidance on connecting you with resources like food stamps, disability insurance, and unemployment insurance.

We also know that sometimes your history of addiction or mental illness can pose a challenge to your professional security. We can act as a fully-informed resource for you on how to navigate the legal aspects of returning to the workforce post-treatment, as well as supporting you in identifying and taking action against any discrimination or mistreatment you may face as a result. We can help you understand your rights, such as those included in the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), which protects you from being fired if you take up to twelve weeks off in a year to address a major health condition. We can help you connect with the Employment Development Department (EDD), which provides a variety of services including helping you search for jobs or vocational training, assisting you in becoming financially independent, and accessing insurance for unemployment, disability, and family-related leave.

Our inpatient residential programs are highly successful and can be molded around your specific strengths and weaknesses.

We know that your treatment must suit your life and our outpatient programs offer the convenience and flexibility you need to make everything happen without missing out on the vital, transformative work that goes into a complete recovery.

Whether your needs are met by the immersive, 24/7 approach of our inpatient program, or prefer to balance your recovery with the other aspects of your life through one of our outpatient programs, our professional, compassionate staff are here to provide a personalized level of care for you at every step of the way.
