ALLA POBERESKY, MAGroup Facilitator
Alla Poberesky is a UCLA-Certified Mindfulness Facilitator, a Clinical Psychology PsyD candidate, a Registered Alcohol and Drug trainee, and a Mindfulness-Based counselor and meditation teacher. She has been facilitating therapeutic groups in both outpatient and inpatient mental health, alcohol, and drug treatment centers for many years. She offers a mindfulness-based process which helps uncover the root causes, conditioned beliefs, and habitual patterns that have held clients back; allowing them to become more present, empowered, and resilient in their lives.
Alla has worked with chronic anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, co-dependency, relapse prevention, and addictions of all forms. Trained in Mindful Self-Compassion by Dr. Kristen Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer, she offers a self-compassionate approach and process of healing which enables clients to meet the challenges life presents from a place of clarity, compassion, and a regained trust in oneself. Alla has developed a curriculum intended to help re-wire destructive patterns, beliefs, and automatic reactions and instead foster increased awareness, self-understanding, self-acceptance, and path to becoming your own refuge.

Alla is extensively involved with Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society, has studied at InsightLA, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, and completed Spirit Rock’s Dedicated Practitioner’s Program. She is a long time Vipassana (Insight) Buddhist meditation practitioner herself and has studied and practiced both secular and non-secular mindfulness in the US and Asia. Along with her certification in mindfulness facilitation from UCLA, Alla holds a B.F.A from Syracuse University, is trained in Mindful Self-Compassion from UCSD School of Medicine, participated in MAPs Teacher Training program at UCLA, and is currently working on her doctorate in clinical psychology.
